Accessibility statement for flagagency.it
Last updated:
In short
- We want the site to be usable by everyone: with a keyboard, with a screen reader, with zoom, on any device.
- The reference standard is WCAG 2.2 level AA.
- Today the site is partially compliant: automated and keyboard checks are done; some manual tests with a screen reader and some older blog content are still pending.
- If you find a problem, write to us at info@flagagency.it: we’ll reply and give you the information in another format.
Our commitment
Flag Agency is committed to making the flagagency.it website accessible, in line with the European directive on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act, Directive (EU) 2019/882), transposed in Italy by Legislative Decree no. 82 of 27 May 2022, and following as a model the guidelines of the Italian Digital Agency (Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale, AgID).
The site presents the agency’s services and collects contact requests: it doesn’t sell products online. The law provides an exemption for microenterprises providing services, but we publish this statement anyway: we build online shops and websites for others, and we expect accessibility first of all from ourselves.
This statement applies to the public pages of flagagency.it. It doesn’t apply to the private area /admin/, used only by staff.
Compliance status
The site is partially compliant with the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, because of the cases listed in the next section.
Non-accessible content
Non-compliance
- Manual screen reader tests not yet completed. We have checked the site with automated and keyboard tools, but we haven’t yet finished testing with VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone: forms, menus and FAQs might have reading issues we haven’t spotted yet (success criteria 1.3.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.3).
- Older blog images. Some articles published before the site redesign contain screenshots and graphics with text inside the image. We wrote alternative text for each one, but it doesn’t always include all the text visible in the image (success criteria 1.1.1 and 1.4.5).
- Text-only zoom. With some browsers that enlarge only the text (not the page) to 200%, the top bar might go off screen: we’re checking this (success criterion 1.4.4).
We’re working to fix these points as soon as possible.
Disproportionate burden
We don’t claim disproportionate burden for any content.
Content outside our control
- WhatsApp, social networks and external websites linked from our pages: their accessibility depends on whoever runs them.
- PDF documents: there are none on the site today. If we publish any, they will be accessible or accompanied by an HTML version.
How we assessed the site
We carried out a self-assessment, that is, the check was done by our team, without an external body:
- automated checks with axe on all service pages and legal pages, with zero errors reported;
- keyboard tests (Tab, Enter, Space and Esc only) on menus, forms, FAQs and tables, at various screen widths, from 320 to 1280 pixels;
- contrast checks of all the site’s colours with the WCAG formula, zoom up to 400% and the “reduce motion” preference;
- code review: headings in order, field labels, alternative text for images, link text.
Statement prepared on , based on the assessment carried out on the same date. We plan to review it at least once a year and whenever the site changes significantly.
What you’ll find on the site
- The “Skip to content” link is the first element you reach with the Tab key.
- Everything can be used with the keyboard alone, and the element you’re on is always highlighted with a clearly visible outline.
- Text of at least 17 pixels, colours with sufficient contrast, underlined links in body text.
- Pages adapt down to 320 pixels wide and to 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- No automatic animations, no videos that start on their own, no carousels.
- In forms every field has a visible label, errors tell you what to do and there are no time limits.
- Tables have row and column headers, images have alternative text.
