PrestaShop hosting

Managed PrestaShop hosting: the server for your online shop, looked after by us

Flag Agency, a PrestaShop web agency in Frattamaggiore (Naples, Italy), offers you a PrestaShop server managed by us: configured for PrestaShop, with backups, monitoring and urgent help on WhatsApp instead of tickets.

A real person from the team replies, not a bot. We reply within 24 hours.

the problem

Is your PrestaShop slow, or does it crash at peak times?

If pages take seconds to load or the site goes down right on sale days, the server often isn’t sized for PrestaShop. These are the most common signs:

  • Category pages and search are slow, especially on phones.
  • During sales, Black Friday or a campaign, the shop slows down or throws errors.
  • You have a large catalogue on shared hosting, alongside hundreds of other sites.
  • The back office is slow: saving a product or opening orders takes too long.

The server isn’t always to blame. That’s why we start with a review, and tell you if the problem is elsewhere.

what’s included

What does Flag’s managed hosting include?

A server configured for PrestaShop and looked after by us, with daily backups kept for 30 days, monitoring, a move from your old hosting without stopping the shop, and urgent help on WhatsApp. The cost depends on the resources your shop needs: we tell you after the review. If we build your online shop, the server is already included in the project.

  • The server for your PrestaShop: set up for PrestaShop and looked after by us.
  • Daily backups: kept for 30 days.
  • Tailored configuration: PHP, cache and database tuned to your shop, not standard settings.
  • Monitoring: if the site slows down or goes down, we notice.
  • Move from your old hosting: without stopping the shop.
  • Urgent help on WhatsApp: with a person on the team who knows your shop.

the server

What servers do you use?

We send you the server specifications (processor, memory, disks and where the data centre is) in writing together with the proposal, after reviewing your shop.

which hosting

Shared hosting, VPS or dedicated server: what does your shop need?

It depends on visits, number of products and modules: a small shop can do well on good shared hosting, while a large catalogue or one with lots of traffic needs dedicated resources. That’s why we measure first, then suggest a solution.

The three kinds of hosting in brief
Type How it works Who it’s for
Shared Your shop shares the server with many other sites Small shops, with few products and few visits
VPS Part of a server with resources reserved for you Growing shops, with medium-sized catalogues
Dedicated A whole server just for your shop Large catalogues, lots of traffic, frequent peaks

the move

How do you move to us without stopping your shop?

We copy the shop to the new server, test it and switch the DNS at a time agreed with you: customers keep buying while we work.

  1. Step 01

    Review.

We look at your shop and current server: speed, resources used, modules, traffic peaks.

  2. Step 02

    Copy to the new server.

We move files and database to a server prepared for PrestaShop, without touching the live site.

  3. Step 03

    Testing.

We test browsing, cart, payments and back office on the copy, before a real customer uses them.

  4. Step 04

    DNS switch.

At an agreed time we point the domain to the new server. DNS is the “address book” that tells the internet where your site is.

we measure first

We measure first, then you decide

If the shop is slow because of the theme or a module, we tell you before getting you to change server. Sometimes optimising the hosting you have is enough.

If the bottleneck is a module or an error, our PrestaShop support takes care of it. If it’s the theme, on a lightweight theme like Flag Theme the shop runs even faster.

Frequently asked questions about PrestaShop hosting

What’s the best hosting for PrestaShop?

The one sized for your shop: visits, number of products and modules decide how many resources you need. Cheap hosting can be enough for a small catalogue, while a large one needs dedicated resources. That’s why we start from a review of your shop, not from a price list. To find your way, read our guide to choosing a PrestaShop server.

How much does managed PrestaShop hosting cost?

It depends on the resources your shop needs: visits, products, modules and traffic peaks. That’s why we don’t publish a price list: first we review the shop, then we tell you the cost in writing, before any move. Asking for the review doesn’t commit you to anything.

Is the server included if you build my online shop?

Yes. In the PrestaShop online shops we build with Method 10, the server is included: we look after it, with daily backups kept for 30 days. If you already have a shop, we start with a review and tell you in writing how much it costs to move it to our server.

Does moving to the new server stop the shop?

No. We copy the shop to the new server, test it and switch the DNS at a time agreed with you, usually when traffic is lowest. Until then customers keep buying on the usual site, and after the switch we check that orders and payments work.

Do you handle emergencies too?

Yes: emergencies go through WhatsApp, where a person on the team who knows your shop replies, not a ticketing system. Tell us what’s happening, even with a screenshot, and we tell you straight away how we’ll step in.

Do I really have to change hosting?

No. If the review shows the problem isn’t the server but the theme, a module or the images, we tell you first. Sometimes optimising the hosting you already have is enough: in that case we explain what to fix, and if you like, we fix it.

What are PrestaShop 9’s requirements?

PrestaShop 9 needs PHP 8.1 or later, MySQL 5.7 or MariaDB 10.2 at minimum, Apache 2.4 or Nginx, at least 512 MB of memory per script and a few PHP extensions, including cURL, GD, Intl, Mbstring and Zip. If your hosting doesn’t have them, upgrading PrestaShop becomes a problem.
