What PrestaShop modules do we develop?

Modules that add to your shop a feature ready-made modules don’t have, or don’t have the way you need it. Here are the most common cases.

  • Connections to management software and ERP: orders, customers, prices and stock flowing automatically between the shop and the software you use in the office.
  • Checkout and invoicing: an extra field, a check, a piece of data that needs to end up in the order or on the invoice.
  • Price lists and rules for resellers (B2B): reserved prices, minimum orders, customers to approve.
  • Import and export: products, prices and orders to and from files or other systems.

€99 + VAT for most requests. Before we start we assess what the module has to do and confirm the price; if your request doesn’t fit that budget we tell you beforehand, and we don’t do extra work without your agreement. The module’s code stays yours.

How do we develop a module without breaking your shop?

We work with the tools PrestaShop provides, without touching the core of the platform, and we test everything before putting it live.

  • Hooks, not core changes. Hooks are the attachment points PrestaShop provides for modules. Using them instead of changing the platform’s files is the approach that handles updates best.
  • Tests on a copy of the shop. We test the module on a copy first, then it goes live.
  • Compatible with PrestaShop 9.
  • Your code, delivered and explained. The code remains your property and you receive the module with instructions on how to use it.

Sometimes we’ve already built what you need. First take a look at the PrestaShop modules we sell: if one does the job, you spend less and install it straight away. If an installed module throws errors, slows the shop down or clashes with another one, you don’t need to write a new one. Flag’s PrestaShop support will take care of it: tell us what’s happening and we’ll tell you what to do before we start.

Frequently asked questions about custom PrestaShop modules

How much does a custom PrestaShop module cost?

€99 + VAT: that’s the price of most of the custom modules people ask us for. Before we start we assess your request and confirm the price. If a job doesn’t fit that budget we tell you straight away, before starting: no extra work without your agreement.

How long does it take to develop a module?

It depends on what it has to do: adding a field to the checkout takes much less work than connecting the shop to management software. We write the timing in the assessment, before we start, together with the price. So you know when it’ll be ready before you say yes.

Will the module stay compatible with PrestaShop updates?

It’s written to handle them. We use PrestaShop hooks, the attachment points designed for modules, without changing core files. That’s the approach that handles updates best. Before moving to a new major version, though, it’s always worth testing the module on a copy of the shop.

Can you change a module I’ve already bought?

Often yes, if the module’s licence allows it. First we check it, then we tell you what can be changed and how much it costs. If the licence doesn’t allow changes, or the module is too old, we suggest a module of our own that does the same thing, the way you need it.

Is the module’s code mine?

Yes: the code of the module we develop for you remains your property. You receive it installed on your shop, with instructions on how to use it, and in future other developers can modify it too.

I don’t know the technical name for what I need: can I still ask?

Yes, in fact it’s the best way to start. Describe it in your own words, for example “I want resellers to see different prices” or “I want stock to update by itself”. We’ll ask the technical questions, one at a time. If you can’t answer, write “I don’t know”.
