how it’s done

How do you update stock in PrestaShop with a CSV?

With PrestaShop’s import (Advanced Parameters › Import) you have to prepare the file in the format PrestaShop wants and repeat the process every time. The module instead reads your management software’s file as it is and does it by itself, even at night.

If you update quantities by hand, the risk is always the same: you sell online a product that’s out of stock in the warehouse, or keep an item that has just arrived marked “out of stock”.

Do I have to change my management software’s file?

No: you tell it which column contains the reference or EAN and which one the quantity. The file stays as it is, so you can keep exporting it the way you do today.
