What problem does Smart Sorting solve?
Without automatic sorting, out-of-stock or unimportant products end up at the top of your categories, and reordering them by hand isn’t sustainable when the catalogue changes every day. Customers see items they can’t buy first, and they leave.

How do you sort products in PrestaShop without a module?
By hand: in the catalogue you filter products by category and drag them into the position you want, one category at a time. With a few products it works; but every time an item sells out or something new arrives, you have to do it again.

How fast is it with large catalogues?
In our tests it rebuilds the ranking of 10,000 products in about 1 second and of 50,000 in about 4 seconds. The calculation runs in the background and is saved as the position in the category, so people browsing the shop don’t wait for anything.

Can I decide which products go at the top?
Yes: you give products, categories and brands an importance from 1 to 10, and the module takes it into account together with stock and recent sales. The higher the importance, the higher the product climbs.
Does it work on brand pages too?
Yes: on brand pages the module adds a “Recommended” sort order, which follows the same ranking, with out-of-stock items at the bottom.
Does it slow the shop down?
No: the ranking is calculated in the background and saved as the products’ position in the category, so people browsing the shop don’t wait for anything.
Does it work with my theme and with filters?
